Joe Glenn Wilson, age 66, of Zionville, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Watauga Medical Center. Joe fought a good fight, he finished his course. Joe was born on August 12, 1945 in Ashe County, NC to the late Emmitt Wilson and Dessie June Johnson Wilson. Joe loved restoring his 1953 Buick, tending to cattle and going to church. Joe is survived by his wife, Joy Wilson; his sons, David Wilson of West Jefferson, NC; Keith Wilson and wife Sheila of Zionville, NC and Adam Wilson and wife Melissa of Mountain City, TN; sister, Ruth Maye of Bristol, TN; brothers, Carl Dean Wilson and wife Kathy of Albany, Oregon; John Wilson and wife Linda, of The Dalles, Oregon and Max Wilson and wife, Francis of Newark, Delaware; grandchildren, Bridgette Wilson and Caroline Kelsey Wilson; a special niece, Joy Maze of Piney Flats, TN; several other nieces and nephews and many special friends also survive. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Ward Benefield and Rev. J. B. Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilson Cemetery in Zionville, NC. Pallbearers will be James T. Vanover, Brian Henry, Harold Wilson, Terry Munday, Edward Mahala and Edward Seatz. At other times the family will receive friends at the home, located at 510 Wilson Road, Zionville, NC 28698 Condolences may be sent through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
