Betty Jean Parchman

Betty Jean Parchman, age 74, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012. She was born on December 7, 1937. She was raised in Carter County and moved to Nashville in 1956. Betty married Tony in 1957. They continued to make their home in Nashville until 2005, when they moved to Mountain City. Betty loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed working in her garden. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Riddle and grandparents, Thomas and Mary Chafin. She is survived by her husband of 54 ½ years, Tony Parchman; daughter, Chavela Parchman of Mountain City, TN; half brother, Joe Dugger of Norfolk, VA; grandson, Dren Carbonari and wife Sherry of Mountain City, TN; great grandchildren: SaraLynn and Gabriel Carbonari. It was Betty's wishes to be cremated and that no formal service be held. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
