Lee L. Roark II, age 43, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 6, 2012, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina on February 21, 1969 to Lee L and Judy Baird Roark. Lee was a graduate of Johnson County High School and had worked as a machinist and welder for many years in factory maintenance. He was a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F & AM. Lee had a passion for motorcycles and playing the guitar. He loved to get together with his family and friends and play music. Lee also enjoyed a good game of golf. He was very close with all of his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. In addition to his parents, Lee L. and Judy Roark of Mountain City, TN, Lee is survived by his grandmother, Jessie Baird of Johnson City, Tennessee; brothers and best friends: Brian and wife Kim Roark and Michael Yates, all of Mountain City, TN; special friend, Crystal Buckheit; special nephews: Brandon Roark, Ethan Roark and Nathaniel Yates; Jordyn Lunceford, who was like a granddaughter to Lee; daughter's and Big Lee's babies: Abby and Bruiser; special friends: Duke and Lisa Snyder, Jessica Yates and Larry Potter and many, many more; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Leonard Fletcher and Pastor Randy Hensley to officiate. Eulogy will be given by Duke Snyder and Kevin Parsons. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are: Bud Crosswhite, Kevin Parsons, David Ross, Kevin Hodges, David Rash, Brian Allen, Dean Roark and Duke Snyder. Honorary Pallbearers are: Brian Roark, David Potter, Doug Roark, Michael Yates, Joe Baird, Terry Baird, Tim Baird, Nathaniel Yates, Brandon Roark, Ethan Roark, Ronny Potter and Lonnie Baird. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the graveside service and will be accorded by the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F & AM. Family, Pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Cancer Support Group, c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N., Mountain City, TN 37683. The family will receive friends at the home of Lee's brother Brian Roark, 282 Sprucey Ln., Mountain City, Tn 37683.
