Charlie Blankenbeckler, age 70, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on May 2, 1941 to the late Eugene and Ida Horne Blankenbeckler. Charlie was a charter member of the Johnson County Rescue Squad. He enjoyed hunting, hunting dogs and horses. Charlie loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church and had also attended Liberty Christian Church. He was a United States Army Veteran. Charlie is survived by his wife, Martha Blankenbeckler; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Tad Leeds of Raleigh, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Janice Ringwald of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Vanessa Martinez, Nathan Ringwald and Alyssa Ringwald and Grant Leeds; special cousin, Joe Chase of Jonesborough, TN; several more cousins and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Minister Maurice Widener to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 273 Tom Phillippi Rd., Mountain City, Tn 37683.
