"Jake" Kevin James Cable, age 25, of Gray, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness due to complications from an autoimmune condition. He was born on October 24, 1986 in Charleston, SC. Jake's passion was spending time and caring for his three year old son, Dayton James Cable. He took great pride in his Sales and Leasing position with Grindstaff Kia, where he earned several awards for being top salesman as he followed in his grandfather's and his great-grandfather's footsteps. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mountain City and attended University Parkway Baptist Church in Johnson City. Jake is survived by his son, Dayton James Cable; mother and step-father, Lynne and Kenneth Phillips; father, Kevin Cable; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Edward NeSmith; one niece, Hannah NeSmith; one nephew, Hunter NeSmith; grandparents, Dayton Ray and Janet Payne and Elizabeth "Betsy" and the late Wayne Cable; one uncle, Dayton Timothy Payne; one aunt, Janet Rhea Payne and her daughters, Katherine and Amelia and numerous great-aunts and uncles, and cousins. Private family graveside service and interment will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 with Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff to officiate.
