Loveta Pleasant

Loveta Pleasant, age 78, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with her heavenly father at her residence on Monday, May 28, 2012. She was born on April 10, 1934 to the late Clyde and Lilly Pearl Wilson Shipley. In addition to her parents, Loveta was preceded in death by her husband Estel Guy Pleasant; sons, Douglas Pleasant and Wendell Pleasant; brothers: Dan Shipley, Roy Shipley, James Porter Shipley and John Shipley. Loveta loved being outdoors and working in her flowers beds and garden. She also loved to sew and cook. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Loveta is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Mildred and Joe Eastridge of Butler, TN, Sharon and Doug Merryman of Elizabethton, TN and Jacqueline and Larry Thomas, also of Elizabethton, TN; sons and daughter-in-law: Anthony and Kathy Pleasant of Mountain City, TN and Norman Pleasant, also of Mountain City, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her family at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Spencer and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are: Joey Eastridge, Jamie Eastridge, Daniel Merryman, Jonathan Pleasant and friends and family. Honorary Pallbearers are Members of Calvary Baptist Church. The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Amedisys Home Health. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Awana Club of Calvary Baptist Church, 1354 Cold Springs Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
