Lorraine Curd

Lorraine G. Curd, age 89, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born on May 24, 1923 to the late Robert Stacy Gentry and Mina Cress Gentry. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her foster parents, William Arthur and Frances Gentry; her husband Robert L. Curd; a brother, Dr. Harold Wayne Gentry, and son-in-law, Albert Joe Taylor. Lorraine enjoyed reading and visiting with her friends. She was a longstanding member of First Christian Church. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Sharon C. Taylor; granddaughter, Susan Taylor; special friends: Edna Smith, Louise Dowell, Lucille and John Lemus and Tony Eller and half-brother, Frank Gentry. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Ron Drake officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers are: Tony Eller, Tommy Eric Taylor, Stephen Ernest Taylor, James Arthur Smith, Bill Dowell and Eric Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jack Swift, Roger Blankenbeckler, Michael Smith, Jack Cress, Frank Gentry and John Lemus. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to the Community Church, PO Box 21, Mountain City, TN 37683 or National Kidney Foundation 95 White Bridge Road, Suite 300, Nashville, TN 37205.
