Mr. Samuel H. Campbell, 73, husband of 39 years to Betty Campbell, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ricky Campbell officiating. Entombment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with military honors. Mr. Campbell was born in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Hubert Hoyt Campbell and Claudia Mae Tapp. Mr. Campbell retired from the army having served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Mary Campbell Austin, brother, Jerry Dean Campbell, and grandson, Jordan Stump. Survivors include his wife, Betty Campbell; children, Margaret Campbell Higdon and husband Donald, Samuel H. Campbell, Jr., Rev. Ricky Wayne Campbell and wife Millie, Kenneth Darryl Campbell and wife Sandy, and Jennie Campbell; stepson, Randal M. Davidson; mother, Claudia Mae Tapp; siblings, Freida Campbell, Johnny Campbell, Martha Campbell Farmer, Robert Dean "Deanie" Campbell, Ruth Ellen Campbell Poore, Sybil Campbell Howard, Tommy Campbell, and Norma Campbell Howard. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel.
