Chris Proffitt

Chris Proffitt, age 22, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away August 26, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on March 10, 1990 in Johnson City, TN to Joe Proffitt and Sonya Nelson Proffitt. Chris was employed as a millwright for Kellog, Brown & Root. He enjoyed four wheeling. Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Thomas Tom' Proffitt and Lavonda Tester Proffitt and his maternal grandfather, Sam Nelson. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his sister, Jennifer Proffitt; grandmother, Carolyn Lowe Nelson, several aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating. Graveside service and interment will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Reece Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hedrick, Matt Roark, Josh Hodge, Ernie Hodge, Matt Jones and Allen McNeil. Honorary pallbearers will be Chaz Kelley and members of Doe Valley Fire Department.
