Walter Floyd "W. F." Blevins, age 82, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 25, 1929 to the late Dennis O. Blevins and Ethel Rose McNeil Blevins in Shady Valley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Wallace Blevins in 2004 and sisters Margie Reeves and Nancy Blevins. W.F. was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation with 27 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and was a loving father and grandfather and will truly be missed. W.F. was a member of Crandall Church of Christ. Survivors include: Daughters, Melissa Arney and husband Dean of Mountain City and Melinda Bright and husband David of Limestone, TN; Sons, Travis Blevins and wife Karen, Perry Blevins and Keenan Blevins and wife Robin, all of Shady Valley, TN; Granddaughters, Belle Bright and Brandi Turner and husband James; Grandson, Chad Arney and fiancé Cayla Lewis and David Bright, Jr.; sisters, Conna Lee Blevins and Peggy Dugger; brothers, Clay Neil Blevins, Ned Blevins, Bobby Jack Blevins, Kenneth Blevins, Leon Blevins and Forrest Blevins; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Crandall Church of Christ with funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. with Vergil Cretsinger, Minister to officiate. Graveside service and interment will follow from the Blevins Cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Blevins, Kent Earnest and Hunter Blevins. Memorials contributions may be made to the Shady Valley Fire Dept. c/o Conley Gentry 340 Walker Rd., Shady Valley, TN 37688.
