Clarence Fenner

Clarence Fenner, age 88, of Bristol, Virginia and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away following a long battle with cancer on November 13, 2012 at the Wellmont Hospice House. He was born on May 16, 1924 to the late William and Virgie Wilson Fenner. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Fenner, who passed away in 1975; sisters: Verna Lee Gentry, Beatrice Jeff and Gladys Barlow and a brother, Paul Edison Fenner. Clarence was an avid sports lover, especially baseball and football. He loved to socialize and be around his family and friends. Clarence enjoyed raising a garden and cooking. Clarence was a United States Navy Veteran. During his military career, he served on the aircraft carrier, Intrepid. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church. Clarence is survived by his sisters: Loretta Lowe and Anna Mae Loggins; brothers: Floyd H. Fenner and William Fenner Jr., who is also Clarence's twin brother; several nieces and nephews and many, many special friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Phillippi Cemetery and will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard and Pastor Richard Stout. Pallbearers will be: Steve Lowe, Howard Lowe, Don Lowe, Tommy Reece, Chad Lowe and Raymond Cress. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Loretta Lowe, 937 Robinson Hollow Lane, Mountain City, TN 37683.
