Virginia Irene Morefield

Virginia Irene Morefield, age 89, of Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Johnson County Community Hospital. She was born on July 13, 1923 to the late Frank and Rosa Shupe Harper. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Morefield; one son, Benny Morefield, a sister, Elsie Jenkins and a son-in-law, Jim Campbell. Virginia worked at Ramsey's 5 & 10 variety store for 20 years and she enjoyed being a Homemaker. She loved her family and will be truly missed. Virginia was a member of Dewey Christian Church. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Linda Campbell of Butler, TN; sons: Dean Morefield and wife Phyllis of Mountain City, TN and Bobby Morefield and wife Rebecca of Robinsville, NC; sister, Helen Harper of Butler, TN; brother, James Harper and wife Janet of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Chris Morefield and wife Trish, Heather Dickens and husband Michael, Cody Morefield, Nick Morefield, Benji Morefield and Gwyn Morefield; great grandchildren: Ryan Morefield, Samantha Carroll, Daniel Estep, Mikaela Carroll, Mackenzie Carroll, Jeffery Brooks and Veda Morefield; four nephews: Paul Jenkins and wife Brenda, Gene Jenkins and wife Linda, Robert Jenkins and wife Doris and Lonnie Jenkins and wife Linda and many friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Minister C.D. Bud' Gentry officiating. Music will be under the direction of Trish Morefield and Ryan Morefield. Graveside service and interment will follow from the Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Jenkins, Gene Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Lonnie Jenkins, Michael Dickens, Daniel Estep, Cody Morefield, Benji Morefield and Chris Morefield. Honorary pallbearer is Nick Morefield and Jim Hutchinson. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Johnson County EMS and Butler 1st Responders for the kindness and care.
