Edna Elese Smith

Edna K. Smith, age 93, of Mountain City, Tennessee, crossed over to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 04, 2012 in the Sycamore Shoal Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born April 29, 1919 in Livingston, Tennessee to the late Emmitt Bryl Keisling and Sallie Elizabeth Ledbetter Keisling. The eighth of nine children, she had made her home in Johnson County since 1947. She was a former beautician of Okay Beauty Shop in Mountain City for some 30 years. She was a housewife, loved to quilt, watch television game shows, and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves. She had also been a member of First Christian Church for 65 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hassler Smith in September of 2009; son, James Howard Smith; sisters, Lena Ubanks, Bonnie Mullins, Virgie Jolley and Sarah Lee; and brothers, Hardy Keisling, Howard Keisling, Claymer Keisling and Bethel Keisling. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Anne Smith of Cookeville, TN and Lisa Widener and husband Tim Widener of Mountain City; son, Michael Smith and wife Garnetta of Mountain City; grandchildren, Matthew Niggeler of Cookeville, TN and B. Michael Smith and wife Rebecca of Williamsburg, VA; two great-grandchildren, Alastair Benjamin and Sydney Grace Smith of Williamsburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister, Ken Caswell officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012, in Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School class.
