Lynn Caprice Dunn Payne, age 84, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Watauga Medical Center. She was born on August 16, 1928 to the late George and Lottie Tester Dunn. In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Payne, who passed away May 12, 2009; sisters: Pauline Icenhour, Opal Woodward and Jane Hodge and a brother, Raymond Dunn. Lynn was a longstanding member of Roan Creek Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was an active homemaker and excelled in crocheting unique ornaments and doilies and lettered doilies. Lynn also enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, canning and freezing. She was employed by Ramsey's Five and Ten Store for several years and had also been employed at City Cleaners and Leco Manufacturing. Lynn will always be remembered by her Avon customers for over twenty years of service to Avon Products Inc. She is survived by her loving daughter, Phyllis Rominger; one grandson, Wesley Rominger and special friend, Vanessa Isaacs, all of Mountain City, TN; two sisters: Frances Eastridge, also of Mountain City, TN and Ann Drinnon of Newport, TN; several nieces and nephews; special pets, Mootsie', Tommy-Toe' and Yellow-Bug'; special granddog, Bandit; and her many neighbors and church family. The family will receive friend from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from the Roan Creek Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with pastors David Hankel and Derl McCloud to officiate. Music will be provided by Ms. Jackie Warden. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active pallbearers are: Junior Eastridge, Johnny Eastridge, David Eastridge, Randy Pardue, Steve Rominger and Hensel Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jerry Drinnon, Derl McCloud, Willie Arnold, Kenneth Dunn, Wayne Dunn and Chris Pierce. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Roan Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 662 Lumpkin Branch Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
