Billy Joe Johnson

Billy Joe Johnson, age 38, of Mountain City Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the home of his brother. He was born on December 12, 1974 in Watauga County to Darlene W. Johnson and the late Bobby Daniel Johnson. In addition to his father, Billy was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins and his close cousin and friend, Jerry Lee Vanover. He is survived by his mother, Darlene Johnson, of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert Harold Johnson and Jeanette and her son, Wayne Burchette; a nephew, Bobby Daniel Johnson; a niece, Abigail Grace Johnson, all of Ashe County, NC; one sister, Cathy Sue Johnson and fiancé, Michael Roberts, of Mountain City, TN; one daughter, who lives in Webster Springs, West Virginia and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Stidham to officiate. A eulogy will be given by Rev Ed Vanover. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Burial will follow from the Johnson Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lewis, Michael Roberts, Kenneth Johnson, Gary Johnson, Cory Johnson, James Vanover, Jim Potter, Mark Potter, Jimmy Dale Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Junior Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Billy's family and friends. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be sent to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
