Mona Greer

Mona Greer, age 92, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at her residence. She was born on July 31, 1920 to the late Baxter and Docie Leffman Gentry. In addition to her parents, Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Greer; a son, Rondal Ron' Greer; sister, Cora Able; brothers: Raymond Gentry, Earl Gentry, and Garn Gentry. Mona worked at Iron Mountain Stoneware for over 25 years. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Mona was a member of State Line Baptist Church and had attended New Beginning Baptist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beulah Greer; grandsons: Bobby Greer and Andy Greer; special sister-in-law, Ella Ruth Greer; several nieces and nephews and many other special family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Bowers to officiate. Graveside Service and Burial will follow from the State Line Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Gentry, Ralph Morefield, Roger Morefield, Junior Carlton, Steve Carson, Willie Phipps and Gary Carlton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mona's memory may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
