Pauline Owens

Pauline Owens, age 80, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital of Abingdon, VA. She was born on February 17, 1932 to the late Charlie Lee Payne and Della J. Johnson Payne. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Owens; a son, Bobby Owens; sisters: Vernie Payne, Bonnie Payne, Virgie Greer and Dorothy Cress; and brothers: Gurney Payne and Luther Payne. Pauline loved her family very deeply and enjoyed spending time with them and taking care of them. Pauline loved visiting friends and those in the nursing home. She was a long time member of Liberty Christian Church. Pauline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Tim Laws; brother, Worley Payne; grandchildren: Amy Lewis and husband Matthew and Michael McQueen; great grandchildren: Asa Blaine Lewis, Isaac John Lewis and Kassandra Billington and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Maurice Widener to officiate. Graveside Service and Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 from the Cress Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers are Members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad and EMS. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Pauline's daughter, Patsy Laws, 3612 Hwy 421 N., Mountain City, TN 37683.
