Shirley Ann Roark, age 71, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 12, 1941 to the late Tom and Mae Widener Trivette. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert Paul Roark; sister, Katherine Roark; brothers: Paul Trivette, Walt Trivette and Tommy Trivette. Shirley was an active member of First Freewill Baptist Church and was always helping out at the church whenever and wherever she could. She loved to work with her hands and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Shirley enjoyed helping others and was always there to lend a helping hand. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Ted Lewis; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Roark and Brian and Mary Roark; sisters and brother-in-law: Ruth and Glenn Parsons and Myrtle Trivette; grandchildren: Heather Savery and husband Will; Megan McEwen and husband Daniel, Kelsey Roark, Brianne Roark, Austin Roark and Kaylee Roark; great grandchildren: Josiah and Jeremiah McEwen and Harlan and Audrey Savery; special friends: Stella Lane, David and Shirley Richardson; several nieces, nephews and cousins, her church family and many more special friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at First Freewill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Ted Lewis, Billy Poe Jones and Frank Woods officiating. Graveside Service and Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 from the Reece Memorial Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Kevin Parsons, Tommy Tom' Trivette, Dwight Goodrich, Will Savery, Bob Horn, Daniel McEwen, Tommy Roark and Dean Roark. Honorary pallbearers are: Glenn Parsons, David Richardson, Richard Trivette, Raymond Moore and John Byrd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Shirley's memory to First Freewill Baptist Church, 319 Hemlock Street, Mountain City, TN 37683 or Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Piney Grove Road, Hampton, TN. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 1408 Pleasant Valley Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
