Wanda L. Adams

Wanda Lea Roark Adams, age, 67, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on October 20, 1945 to the late Harold and Gadie Osborne Roark. She was a former employee of Levi Strauss and currently a member of the Levi Retirees. Wanda loved to work on her family genealogy. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed. Wanda is survived by her husband, Bill Adams of 48 years and four months; sister-in-law, Judy Lewis; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donnie and Linda Roark of Mountain City, TN, Keith and Penny Roark and David Roark, all of Creston, NC; brother-in-laws: Everett and Gladys Adams of Trade, TN and Darren Richards of Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Rachel Combs of Mountain City, TN; nieces and nephews: Alex Roark, Lacy Roark, Jordan Roark, Bryan Roark, Andy Roark, Erin Taylor and husband Brad; Gloria Hackler and several other nieces and nephews; special friends: Levi Retirees and many other special friends. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Spencer Roark, Coy Proffitt and Roy Dowell officiating. Music will be provided by Clark and Nancy Mixon and members of Faultline. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Bryan Roark, Andy Roark, Jordan Roark, Alex Roark, Danny Cunningham, Jim Vincill, Selmar Potter and Joe Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers are: Levi Retirees, Lions Club, Johnson County Commission, Lacy Roark, Erin Taylor, Gloria Hackler, Belinda Price and Scott Broyhill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wanda's memory may be sent to the Levi Retiree Scholarship, c/o Wanda Timbs, 2290 Dug Hill Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
