Lucille Nelson

Lucille Nelson Lucille Nelson, age 80, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on April 6, 1933 to the late Robert and Edna Osborne Morefield. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, John King Nelson Jr., sister, Bernice Wilkinson, brother, R.L. Morefield and a step-son, Johnny Nelson. Prior to her health declining, Lucille was very active. She enjoyed fishing, working in her flower and vegetable gardens and canning. Lucille also enjoyed working word puzzles and reading. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially hanging out with her sisters. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor. She loved to cut up and tell jokes. Her grandchildren always loved her many ghost stories and tall tales. She was a member of First Christian Church. Lucille is survived by her daughters: Rita Reece and husband Shane; Debbie Arnold and Tracie Nelson Arnold and husband David; son, Lee Arnold; step-son, Tom Nelson and wife Janie; five grandchildren; Christie Joiner and husband Steve, Keesha Rhudy and husband Jesse, Rachel Cranford, Tim Nelson and wife Donna, and John Nelson; seven great grandchildren; Stephen Joiner, Jayden Joiner, Kaylee Cranford, Carter Rhudy, Hope Nelson, Frankie Nelson, Cash Nelson; sisters: Mildred Courtner, Mae Allen, Thelma Mains and Jeannie Arnold; brother, Ken Morefield; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. A brief Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. A Private Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from the Reece Memorial Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are, Stephen Joiner, Jesse Rhudy, Steve Joiner, David Arnold, Lee Arnold, Neil Arnold and Tim Nelson. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Staff of Mountain City Care Center for all of their loving care and support.
