Kathy Jo Reece Kathy Jo Reece, age 59, of Mountain City, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born May 5, 1954 in Johnson County to Jean Phipps Stout and the late Edward (Peanut) Stout. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Stout. Kathy enjoyed working crossword puzzles, she also loved to travel. Her family was very special to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Kathy was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and she loved her church family. Kathy lived her life to the fullest, and the past seven years were the best years of her life. Survivors include her daughter, Kayla Reece of Mountain City; son, Chad Reece and wife Stephanie of Mountain City; mother, Jean Phipps Stout of Mountain City; grandchildren, Aleela and Nyiah; aunt, Nanny Vaught; special cousin, Carol Roark; very special friends, Sharon Greer (soulmate) and Susanne Swinnie. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at Evergreen Baptist Church with the service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Tony Potter officiating and music by Tony and Cheri Potter. Private graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in Stout Family Cemetery, (Lumpkin Branch). Pallbearers will be Adam Greer, Joseph Greer, Ronnie Roark, Michael Roark, Lester Ward and Bob Pardue. Honorary pallbearers will be Otto Main, Kevin Wilson, George Main and Mark Wallace.
