Betty Jo Potter Jenkins, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. She was born on May 19, 1932 to the late David Potter and Hattie Potter McElyea. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Fletcher and Jack Jenkins; sisters, Doris Potter, Ruth Clawson, and Dorothy Scheidigger; brothers, Simon Bud' Potter and James C. Potter. Betty loved to read her bible and to sing praise's to her Lord. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was a true friend to everyone she knew. She sat with the elderly, including her own mother, and loved each one dearly. Betty was a member of The Victory Chapel Cowboy Church and loved her extended church family as if they were her own. She loved her Lord and she has gone home to be with him. Betty is survived by her daughter, Peggy Johnson and husband James of Mountain City, TN and Tampa FL; son, Donnie Fletcher of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Kathleen Hodges of Johnson City, TN and Eula Hatley of Hudson, NC; grandson, Greg Price and wife Kristy of Shady Valley, TN; granddaughter, Jamie Johnson and fiancé David Storie of Zionville, NC; great grandchildren: Corrie, Zachary, Lorelei, Declan, Daelyn and Gavin as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Victory Chapel Cowboy Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with Pastors Carroll Hayworth and Ray Greene to officiate. Graveside Service & Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Price, Kenneth Price, Bob Dunn, Chad Allen, David Storie, Larry Rutter, Billy Jack Jenkins and Heath Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers are James Hayworth, Reese Hodges, Jess Wagner, James Johnson, Joel Icenhour, Dick Jenkins, Ray Jenkins and many more special friends.
