Doug Walker

James Douglas Walker, age 69, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013. He was born on June 21, 1944 to Lois McQueen Walker of Shady Valley, TN and the late Elmer Walker. Doug was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from truck driving after many years of service. He was a member of Shady Valley Presbyterian Church. Doug's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Lois Walker, Doug is survived by his loving wife, Luzi Walker; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Ernie Doss; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Allison Walker; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mabel and Jimmy Jackson; Frances and Harry Booher, Helen and Jim Forrester and Donna and Dude Roark; brother, David Walker; grandchildren: Julianne Doss, Allen Doss; step grandson, Brandon Doss; niece, Brandi Peters; nephew, Kevin Forrester; several more nieces, nephews and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Harmon Chapel Christian Church with the Funeral Service to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Howard Taylor to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow from the McQueen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Lewis, Burton Yarber, Baron Yarber, Bill Trogden, Larry Gentry and Larry Stanton. Honorary Pallbearer is Jack Hutchins.
