Timothy 'Tim' Sluder

Timothy Lowell Sluder, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Tim was a lifelong resident of Shady Valley, Tennessee. He is survived by his son, Jacob Jake' Sluder; parents, Alton and Shirley Sluder of Shady Valley, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law: Pattie and Rick Taylor of Greensboro, NC and Jackie and Blake Grindstaff of Mountain City, TN; nephews: Austin Shoun, Matt Shoun, Travis Grindstaff, Dakota Grindstaff, Chad Taylor, Triston Taylor and Garrett Taylor; one niece, Josie Grindstaff; grandmother, Letha Sluder; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Timothy was an Army National Guard Veteran. He was of the Baptist Faith. The family will receive friends from 5:30 -7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Shannon Smith to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens with Pastor Eddie Porter to officiate. Pallbearers will be Rick Taylor, Matt Shoun, Blake Grindstaff, David Sluder, David Billings, and Robert Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Walker, John McEwen, Sam McEwen, Jamie Blevins, Jeremy Stout and Rick Stout. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his parents, Alton and Shirley Sluder, 129 Sluder Road, Shady Valley, TN 37688.
