Naomi Kay Arnold, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Watauga Medical Center. She was born on February 4, 1932 to the late Conley E. and Pauline Stout. She was a member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church. Naomi was also a proud member of the following organizations: Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Farm Bureau, AARP, Society of Military Widows, Gold Star Wives of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post#6908, American Legion Auxiliary Post #61, Johnson County Historical Society and Heritage Hall. Naomi loved her country, community, family and friends and loved to lend a helping hand anytime that she could. Naomi is survived by her husband of 23 years, William Arnold; step-daughters: Dolores Johnson and Barbara Barnhill and husband Michael; special niece that Naomi claimed as a daughter, Tory Stanley and husband Joe; sister, Connie Frazier; step grandchildren: Austin Jenkins, Brent Snyder and Eric Snyder; several step great grandchildren; niece, Debbie Wright and husband Wrinney, nephew, Jeff Fraizer, special Pen Pal from England, Sheila Humphreys; many more special friends. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Greene to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 from the Bakers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Austin Jenkins, Joe Stanley, Andrew Forrester, B.C. Stout, Gus Stanley and Alton Jacobs. Honorary Pallbearers are Brent Snyder, Eric Snyder, Sam Cress, Mike Walker, Mark Hagaman, Jess Hartman, Dean L. Stout and John Mast. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Naomi's memory may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 811 Big Dry Run Road, Mountain City, TN. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com .
