Raymond Earl Anderson, age 89, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Watauga Medical Center. He was born on August 6, 1923 to the late Milton and Maggie Goins Anderson. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Lee Boren-Anderson, four sisters: Eula, Pauline, Gladys and Mary and five brothers: Denver, Clarence, Wade, Bruce and Jimmy. Raymond was a Volunteer Fireman for many years, worked at the Robo Car Wash and was a lifelong farmer. He was an avid baseball fan. His favorite two teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Baltimore Orioles. Raymond was a member Beulah Baptist Church. Raymond is survived by his brother, Fred Anderson of Mountain City, TN; special niece and caregiver, Phyllis Nichols and husband Jim of Knoxville, TN and twenty two nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ernest Widby to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Blair Lambert, Nephews and Great Nephews.
