Pastor R. 'Gus' Wayne Blevins

Pastor R. Wayne Gus' Blevins, age 61, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on February 10, 1952 to the late Earl and Gertrude Cash Blevins. Gus was a Pastor and Evangelist and loved preaching, spreading God's word and serving his Lord. He was Pastor and member of In Time Message Holiness Church. Gus was also an employee of the Johnson County School System. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Johnson Blevins; daughter and son-in-law: Kimberly D. and Donald Potter; sisters: Gail Blevins Woodward and husband Lonnie and Donna Blevins Miller; brother, Andy Blevins and wife Shirley; mother-in-law, Edna Trivett grandchildren: Abigail Potter and Timothy Potter; many special nieces and nephews; his church family and many friends. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Oscar Roark and Rev. Cecil Green to officiate. Graveside Service and Entombment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. Pallbearers are Eric Trivett, Larry Johnson, David Rhymer, Ken Phillips, Johnny Persinger, Tommy Franklin, Kenny Woodruff, Dean Harper and Daniel Woodruff. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the family.
