Connie Sue Courtner

Connie Sue Courtner, age 53, of Hudson, NC, passed away July 26, 2013 at Valdese Hospital, Rutherford College, NC. She was born January 14, 1960 in Knoxville, TN to Edith Miller Sluder and the late William Frank Miller. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ray Miller. Connie lived in Johnson County until moving to Lenoir 25 years ago. She enjoyed drawing, sewing and quilting. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, I. G. Courtner; mother, Edith Sluder of :Lenoir, NC; daughters, Angela Barnette and Katie Courtner; sons, Joseph Courtner and Isaac Courtner, Jr, all of Lenoir, NC; sister, Mary Ellen Brownly of Maryland; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; two nieces and two nephews. .The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m..with Ted Lewis to officiate.
