Tommy Payne Sr.

Tommy Payne Sr. , age 83, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born on May 15, 1930 to the late Mack Ivan Payne and Beddie Johnson Payne. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by a son, Mark Payne. He was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church. Tommy is survived by his wife, Ruth Payne; daughter, Cheryl Lindsey of Mountain City, TN; sons and daughter-in-law: Tommy Payne of Mountain City, TN and Tracy and Jennifer Payne of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Norene Smith of Mountain City; grandchildren: Savannah Jennings and Mark Payne; three great grandchildren; many special friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the Funeral Service following at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronnie Duncan to officiate. Committal Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Cress and Worley Payne. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 361Corner Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
