Wayne Lester Crowder, age 86, of Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15,2 013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on March 22, 1927 to the late Manley and Ella Warren Crowder. IN addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Crowder; sisters: Trilla Norris, Pauline Greer, Opal Pardue, and Dorothy Pardue; brothers: Clyde Crowder, Otis Crowder, Orville Crowder, Delmar Crowder and Harold Crowder; grandson, Jason Pierce and son-in-law, Gary Laws. Wayne retired from Burlington Industries. He was a United States Army Veteran. Wayne was a loving family man and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church, where he also served as Deacon. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Butler Crowder; daughters and son-in-law: Helen Osborne of Mountain City, TN; Kathy and Johnny Ray Pierce and Wanda Laws, all of Butler, TN; sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Sandra Crowder of Raeford, NC and Johnny and Toni Crowder of Butler, TN; daughter-in-law, Debbie Crowder of Raeford, NC;; sister: Mamie Adams, of Mountain City, TN; brothers: Earl Crowder and Jim Crowder, both of Mountain City, TN; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and Wayne's Church Family at Dyson Grove. Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Dyson Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Leonard Fletcher and Brother Dean Fletcher to officiate. Music will be provided by the Dyson Grove Baptist Church Choir and the Fletcher Family. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Dyson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Osborne, Daniel Laws, Gary Wayne Laws, Tommy Crowder, Kenneth Taylor and Brian Roark. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Crowder, Keith Crowder, Patrick Stout, and Johnny Ray Pierce. The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Susanne Shine and Staff for all of their years of wonderful care and to the Johnson County Medical Group, Amedisys Hospice and to Pastor Leonard Fletcher and our Church Family at Dyson Grove Baptist Church.
