Ruth Oliver

Ruth Oliver, age 95, of Trade, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on August 9, 1918 to the late John and Emma Thomas Lawrence. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Russell D. Oliver; sisters: Vern Potter, Wilma Proffitt, Arna Mae Brown and Birdie Miller; brothers: M.C., Fuller, Paul, Wright' and Cecil Lawrence. She was a member of the Maple Chapter #79 Order of the Eastern Star. Ruth was a member of Trade United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, R.D. and Nell Oliver of Trade, TN; grandson, Dean Oliver and wife Angie of Trade, TN; great grandchildren: Harley Oliver, Tyler Shell and wife Courtney and Summer Oliver; great-great grandchildren: Caden, Rylan and Alexander and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Richie Hayes to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Trade United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Dean Oliver, Tyler Shell, Jeff McGlamery, Doug McFadden, Dick Grayson, Roger Sturgill, Blaine Snyder and Frank Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearers are the Staff of Mountain City Care Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruth's memory may be made to the Trade United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o R.D. Oliver, 420 Modock Road, Trade, TN 37691 or the Trade Community Park, c/o Shirley Snyder, 11136 Hwy 421 S., Trade, TN 37691. The family respectfully requests no food.
