Ellen Reynolds Roark Ellen Reynolds Roark, age 75, of Rock Creek Rd., Creston, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013, surrounded by her family from the Carolinas Medical Center of Charlotte, NC. She was born on February 11, 1938 to the late Simon Reynolds and Bertie L. Rice Reynolds. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Coy Edward Roark July 20, 2010; two grandchildren: Grace Tugman and Brian Coy Roark sister, Edith Hood; brother: Simon Reynolds, Jr.; son-in-law: Richard Tugman. Ellen attended Highland Bible Tabernacle. She loved to work with her hands and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Ellen enjoyed helping others and was always there to lend a helping hand. She is survived by her daughter's and son-in-laws, Lisa and Danny Adams of Lenoir, North Carolina; Cindy Patterson of Creston, North Carolina, Joyce Tugman of Mountain City, and Kathy and David Miller of Mountain City; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Regina Roark of Mountain City; sisters, Eunice Adams, Shirley King and Marilla Bollinger; grandchildren: Sarah Smithey and husband Richard, Jason Miller and wife Heather, Laura Williams and husband BJ, Rodney Tugman and wife Tarah, Timothy Tugman, Daniel Adams, Anna Adams, Nate Adams, Rachel Adams, Eric Roark, Amy Bunting, Sam Reece and Zachary Reece: several great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins, her church family and many more special friends. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor, Lindsay McGrady and Rev. Danny Adams to officiate. Graveside Service and Burial will follow from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are: Marty Roark, Keith Roark and David Carson.
