Jimmy Dean Jim' Rainbolt, age 67, of Butler, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center after an eighteen year courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on July 10, 1946 to the late Elsie Rainbolt. Jim enjoyed being outdoors and when his health permitted, Jim loved to go fishing and mow the yard. When the weather permitted, you would often find Jim sitting on his front porch swing. He also loved listening to gospel music, especially Bill Gaither and the Gaither Family. Jim was a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church and had attended Little Doe Baptist Church, as long as his health permitted. Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan Peters Rainbolt; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Andy Johnson; son, Brian Rainbolt; grandchildren: Tiffany Reece & husband Daniel and Ethan Johnson; sisters: Connie Holloway and special friend, Randy McKinney, Vera Lorentzen and husband Paul, Betty Pritchard and husband Don; brothers: J.A. Holloway, Donald Holloway and wife Claudia; aunts: Betty Lodgston and husband Vince, Inez Bussey and husband Buzz; uncles: Robert Tub' Rainbolt and Kenneth Rainbolt and wife Loretta; several nieces and nephews and many special friends and neighbors. Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Kreg Smith, Greg Thompson, Ronnie Campbell and Sam Icenhour to officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
