Eva Elizabeth Sexton Storie Our Loving Mother, Eva Elizabeth Sexton Storie, age 88, formerly of Crestwood Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, entered into Heaven on Sunday, November 3, 2013. She had lived three years with daughters Judy Jordan and Nancy Townsend before entering Mountain City Care Center and Rehab, where she spent the remaining two years of her life. Eva was of the Baptist faith. She loved flower gardening, word search puzzles and spending time with her friends at the Johnson County Senior Center. She was a graduate of New London Academy High School of Forest, VA. Eva dedicated many years of her life to her son Charles and many other children throughout Johnson County. She was born on May 26, 1925 to the late George Hurley and Lucy Donna Sexton of Goode, Virginia. In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Storie; one son, Charles Paul Storie; one grandson, Adam Dale Price; one sister, Nannie Rose Shaw and four brothers: Wayne, George, Brownie and Loxley Sexton. Eva is survived by one son, Alan Storie and Kathy Courtner; daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Jerry Jordan; Nancy and Eddie Townsend, Sandra and Kenneth Price, all of Mountain City, TN and Glenda and Jeff Aschenback of Piney Flats, TN; three grandsons: Jerry Jordon Jr. of Cleveland, MS, David Storie and Joseph Townsend, both of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Sally Hensley of Bedford, VA and Shirley (Corrine) and husband Kermit Bradley of Rustburg, VA; brothers: Billy Sexton and wife Evelyn of Bedford, VA, Jimmy Sexton and wife Patsy of Big Island, VA and Randy Sexton and wife Charlotte of Goode, VA; many nieces and nephews and very special friends: Evelyn Graybeal of Mountain City, TN and Shirley Watson of Mountain City Care and Rehab, who gave many comforting words and care to Eva. Funeral Services for Eva will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastors Ricky Campbell and David Hankal to officiate. Music will be provided by Dan Calloway, Amber Davis and John Payne of Boones Creek Christian Church, Gray, TN. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Phillippi Cemetery located on Liberty Church Road, Mountain City, TN. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Jordan Jr., Brad Lewis, Vance Bud' Townsend, Terry Jordan, Gary Sexton, Dale Owens and David Storie. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Robert Griffith, Dr. Daniel Jones, Terry Matheson, 100 Hall Nursing Staff and all of the employees of Mountain City Care and Rehab and Caris Healthcare and Hospice, who all took part in Eva's care. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions in Eva's memory may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683, Caris Healthcare, 110 W. Springbrook Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604 or the Johnson County Senior Center, 128 College Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
