Roscoe Hope, age 86, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was born on October 13, 1927 to the late Willie B. and Ora Francis Hope. In addition to his parents, Roscoe was preceded in death by sisters: Lorrean Fleming, Onie Kade and Marie Ausbrooks and brothers: Robert Hope and Jess Hope. Roscoe was a United States Army Veteran, where he proudly and honorably served during the Korean War. He had worked various construction jobs most of his life. Roscoe was a very dedicated and active member of Faith Gospel Church. He is survived by his children: Bobby Hope and wife Martine of Mountain City, TN, Brenda Primeaux and husband Earl of Deridder, LA; Diane Aguillard and husband Bobby of Eunice, LA and Vanessa Rigsby of Russellville, KY; grandchildren: Kathy Schwarberg, Donna Nelson and husband Tim, Dale Hope and Samantha Pardue, all of Mountain City, TN, Amanda Harper and husband Scott, David Taylor and fiance Nicole, all of Russellville, KY, Mark Lott, Shasta Gordon, Allen Franklin, all of LA; Shalako Owens of LA, Crystal Owens and David Owens Jr., all of SD; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and Roscoe's special friends at Mountain City Manor Apartments. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastors Shannon Courtner and David Hankal and Honorary Pastor, Ray Slemp to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Hope, David Taylor, Shalako Owens, Tim Nelson, Bob Grindstaff and Tom Nelson. Honorary Pallbearers are Eddie Porter, Ray Slemp and Clyde Gent. The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Provance and Nursing Staff at the VA Medical Center, Daniel Jones, Dr. John Whitlock and all the staff at the Mountain City Care Center for their loving care and kindness.
