Chelsie L. Pleasant

Chelsie Pleasant, age 92, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at her residence. She was born on August 10, 1921 to the late Walter Carl Brooks and Sarah Etta Brooks. In addition to her parents Chelsie was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Pleasant; brother, Chester Brooks; sisters: Mabel Shupe, Opal Jenkins, and Deen Swift, and sister-in-law and special friend, Gladys Cornett . Chelsie was a former employee of Mill Outlet, having worked there for 34 years. She loved to cook, clean, sew, and take care of her family, especially her grandsons, but most of all she loved to read the Bible. Chelsie was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church and had served as Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie Walsh and husband Walter of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Jeremy Walsh and wife Mary Jo and Adam Walsh and fiancé Christion Barlow, all of Mountain City, TN; great-grandchildren: Tasha Walsh and Summer Moretz, both of Mountain City, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her special companions Odie and Missy. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 from the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frank Woods officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside Service and Interment will follow in the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
