Robert Andy Dyson Jr., age 86, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was born on May 12, 1927 to the late Andy Dyson Sr. and Cora Lee Forrester Dyson. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his siblings: Charlie Dyson, Ruth Rhymer, Pauline Guy, Ruby Woods, Mary Woods, Shirley Blevins, Kitty Phillips and a nephew, who was like a son, Clifford Woods. Andy was a member of First Baptist Church, where he had also served as Deacon and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Andy operated a sawmill for over 40 and was also a farmer. He loved farming, raising tobacco, hay and beef cattle. He truly lived his life by the golden rule. Andy was deeply loved by all who knew him and was simply and affectionately known by many as Papaw D'. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Waters Dyson; son, Bobby Dyson and friend Dixie Widener; niece, who was like a daughter, Pat Woods; sister, Katherine Dyson; grandchildren: Ann Baker and husband Chris, Heather Dyson, Jimmy Woods, Bobbie Jo Watson and husband David; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Lucy Dyson; brothers-in-law, Bill Blevins and Vernon Waters; special friends: George, Janice and Angela Ashley; several nieces and nephews and many more special friends and neighbors. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastors Ricky Campbell, Norman Reece and Harry Wills to officiate. Special Music will be provided by Ricky and Millie Campbell. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Donnelly Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Waters, Wesley Waters, Charles Dyson, Tommy Rhymer, Bud McComas and Mike Phillippi. Honorary Pallbearers are: George Ashley, Bill McGuire, Danny Cunningham, Bob Eller, Mike Reece, Dr. Jim Shine and Staff, Members of Johnson County Rescue Squad and Fellowship Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Andy's memory may be made to the Donnelly Cemetery, c/o Dick Walsh, 350 Circle Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Johnson County Home Health and Johnson County Rescue Squad for their kindness and care give to Papaw D. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 774 Fox Hollow Road, Mountain City, TN.
