Helen W. Nannie' Dyson, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2013. She was born on October 7, 1926 to the late Clinton and Bertha Hamby Waters. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Robert Andy' Dyson Jr., who recently passed away on December 10, 2013; siblings: Pauline Waters, Elizabeth Hawkins, Pearl Johnson, Bertie Faber, Edna Mae Waters, Charles Waters, Herbert Waters, Bill Waters, Clarence Waters, Earl Waters and a nephew, who was like a son, Clifford Woods. Helen graduated from Damascus High School. She married her best friend, Andy Dyson on December 16, 1955. In addition to her and Andy's son, Bob, Helen helped raise her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other children. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and was simply and affectionately known by many as Nannie'. Helen is survived by her loving son, Bobby Glenn Dyson and friend Dixie Widener; niece, who was like a daughter, Pat Woods; sister-in-law, Katherine Dyson; brother, Vernon Waters; grandchildren: Ann Baker and husband Chris, Heather Dyson, Jimmy Woods, Bobbie Jo Watson and husband David; nine great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; special friends: Mary Grindstaff, Jerry and Linda Farmer, George, Janice and Angela Ashley, Charlie and JoAnn Cutlip; several nieces and nephews and many more special friends and neighbors. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastors Ricky Campbell, Harry Wills and Norm Reece to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Donnelly Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Waters, Wesley Waters, Charlie Cutlip, Tommy Rhymer, Bud McComas and Charles Dyson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Griffith Staff, Fellowship Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and Staff of Mountain City Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Donnelly Cemetery, c/o Dick Walsh, 350 Circle Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683.
