Donald R. Thomas

Donald Reed Thomas, age 83, of New Port Richey, Florida, and Mountain City and Trade, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, Florida. Donald was born on December 18, 1930 to the late Reed and Ruth Jennings Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Wills. Donald was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Thelma Church Thomas; sons: Ronnie Thomas of Sugar Grove, NC and D.R. Thomas of Trade, TN; sister, Nancy Wood and husband Jerry of Lexington, SC, brother-in-law, Lewis Wills of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Lisa Thomas, Nathan Thomas, Andrew Thomas and Brandon Thomas; great grandchildren: Forrest Thomas and Landon Thomas; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Potter officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park.
