Billy Joe Bill' Clawson, age 65, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was born on March 28, 1948 to the late McKinley and Maude Dillinger Clawson. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his late wife, Rebecca Montine Clawson; sisters: Wanda Clawson, Mollie Whaley and Ann Gentry and brothers Homer Clawson and Paul Clawson. Bill was United States Army Veteran having honorable served during Vietnam. He was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church. Bill loved being outdoors working or fishing. He was an accomplished carpenter and had built many homes in Tennessee and North Carolina. Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Catrina and Steve Poole; sons and daughters-in-law: Teddy Joe and Angie Clawson, Phillip Clawson, who is currently serving in the United States Navy, and wife Christine and Jason Clawson, who is currently serving in the United States Army; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Terry Dugger; brothers and sisters-in-law: Roscoe Ross' and Sandy Clawson, Delbert Clawson and Beryl and Geneva Clawson; grandchildren: Tosha Poole, Tristan Clawson, Cameron Clawson, Alex Clawson, Michael Clawson, Mason Clawson and Axel Clawson; special friend, Betty Banner and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Greene and Pastor Terry Dugger to officiate. Music will be provided by Bill's Children and the Willow Valley Baptist Church Choir and Sugar Grove Baptist Church Choir. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill's best friend, George White, Johnny Clawson, Jerry Clawson, Kenny Clawson, Calvin Clawson, Richard Clawson and Tristan Clawson. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Cable and Ray Stout. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Bill's brother, Ross and Sandy Clawson, McKinley Clawson Road, Butler, TN.
