Danny K. Allen

Danny K. Allen, age 64, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was born on February 16, 1949 to Markieta Grindstaff Allen and the late Troy Allen. In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by a special uncle, Coy K. Allen. Danny graduated from Johnson County High School. He worked at North American Rayon for many years and recently retired from North East Correctional Complex. Danny had several horses and loved to work with them and enjoyed riding in Wagon Trains. Danny was a United States Army Veteran. In addition to his mother, Markieta Allen, Danny is survived by his daughter, Retha Allen, of Elizabethton, TN; a son, Andrew Allen of Butler, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sandy and James Whaley and Patricia and Mike Forrester, all of Butler, TN; brother, Larry Allen of Mountain City, TN; granddaughter, LeAnna Allen of Elizabethton, TN; nephew, Patrick Whaley; aunts: Volene Russell, Ruth Garland, and Christine Laws; uncles: Ralph Allen and Harold Allen; many cousins and special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kreg Smith to officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors will follow from the Rambo Cemetery (Dugger Hollow Road, Butler, TN) and will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be: James Kegley, Kenneth Lowe, Roy Dale Arnold, Kenneth Arnold, Matthew Hicks and Jason Seatz.
