THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 2014 AT THE RAINBOW CEMETERY Mamie Adalee Crowder Adams, 88, entered into her eternal peace Saturday morning, January 18, 2014. Surrounded by her loving family, she took her final journey home into the presence of her Savior and family waiting for her at Heaven's gates. Mamie was born March 30, 1925 to Manley and Ella Warren Crowder at their home in Mining Town. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Smith Johile Adams; brothers, Kermit, Ernest, Clyde, Orville, Delmar, Otis, Harold, and Wayne; sisters, Bertha Mae, Beulah, Edith Pauline, Opal, Edna, Pauline, Trilla and Dorothy. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Angie and Gary Gambill of the home on Forge Creek, Elaine and Buck Kirby of Shouns, and Delores and Joseph Anderson of Castlewood, VA; her grandchildren, Ryan Gambill, Brittany Dorman, Chris Gambill, Jenny Francis, Paula Kahill, Buddy Kirby and Cherie Osborne; great-grandchildren, Carson and Nathaniel Dorman, Kylie and Laken Francis, Riley McNeil, Brooklin Kahill, Hannah, Lily and Elijah Osborne. Mamaw's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was theirs. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Linda Crowder and Earl and Earlene Crowder of Rainbow; sisters-in-law, Rochelle Crowder, Betty Crowder and Betty Johnson; brothers-in-law, Dwight Adams and Ray Adams; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, at Rainbow Mennonite Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Larry Denny and Rev. Frank Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by Judy Davis and Edna Miller. Her daughter, Angie, will read a tribute to her mother that she wrote several years ago. Internment will be Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Rainbow Cemetery on the hill behind the church. Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, Gary Gambill, Joseph Anderson and Buck Kirby; grandsons, Ryan Gambill, Chris Gambill and Buddy Kirby; great-grandson, Elijah Osborne; and grandson-in-law, Steve Osborne. Honorary Pallbearers will be her brothers, Jim and Earl Crowder; nephews, Ed Crowder and Darrell Adams; and family friend, Jay Davis. At other times, the family will receive friends where Mamie made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Gary and Angie Gambill, 923 Hubert Taylor Road, Mountain City, TN. We celebrate the legacy you leave us, the Christian life you lived as an example to us, the unconditional love you always gave us, the humor you sprinkled into our lives, and your strength that never failed. You're home for good, Mama. It's suppertime at last.
