Helen Shore Atwood de la Rigaudiere

Helen Shore Atwood de la Rigaudiere, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 12, 1926 to the late William Walter Shore and Mamie Andrews Shore. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Guy de la Rigaudiere; five sisters and three brothers. Helen retired from the United States Postal Service. She loved life and lived each day to the fullest. Helen loved to be with her family and enjoyed playing baseball with her grandchildren. She liked to work crossword puzzles, read and had a deep love for animals. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was also a past member of the church choir. Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Harry 'Bud' Reece; son, David Atwood and wife Giovanna, sister, Betty Dugger; grandchildren: LuAnne Suba and husband Rich, April Stout and husband Gary, Adrienne Henderson and husband Greg, Kim Jackson and husband Adam, Jeff Atwood and wife Reka and Nicole Foster and husband Kevin; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Ritchie Hayes and Rev. Ron Drake to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at the First United Methodist Church columbarium wall.
