George Wilson Johnson

George Wilson Johnson, age 76 of Butler, Tennessee and formerly of Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He was born on September 17, 1937 to the late Aaron and Ida Mae Johnson. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers. George was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679 F&AM. He retired from General Motors and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time on the lake. He was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, where he also served as Deacon. George is survived by his wife, Antonina Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Dominick and Shannon Johnson; sister, Bonnie McBee; brother, Russell Johnson; sister-in-law, JoAnn Wright and her husband Morgan; grandchild, Cheryce Johnson and her son, Quinten; his dog, Libby' who is a Toy French Poodle and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Koch to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside Service and inurnment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 from the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
