Ruby Blanch Thomas

Ruby Blanch Thomas, age 92, of Trade, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on December 9, 1921 in Watauga County, North Carolina to the late Clyde and Hassie Price Wallace. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Thomas; her son, Danny Keith Thomas and a brother, Ray Wallace. Ruby loved to stay busy. She was always cooking, cleaning, working in her garden and taking care of her family. Ruby also loved reading her Bible. Ruby is survived by her children: Robert Blaine Thomas and wife Geraldine, William Edgar Ted' Thomas and wife Linda, Marlin Wayne Thomas, and Lynn Carson Thomas and wife Jewell; sister, Janice Davis; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steven Spencer to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 from the Wallace Cemetery, Watauga County, NC. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. At other times, the family will receive friends at 908 67 N, Trade, TN.
