Bob' Dodgion, Jr., age 69 of Shady Valley, TN, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Johnson County Community Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1945 to the late Robert G. Dodgion Sr. and Izetta Hutchinson Garland. Bob was a diesel mechanic for Cummins and a former employee of NECC. He was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Lt. Robert D. Powel Camp #1817 and enjoyed researching war history. His most favorite thing that he enjoyed doing when he was at home, was listening to his son's and daughter's-in-law band. One of Bob's favorite pass time hobbies was going RVing with his family. Bob also enjoyed being outdoors and watching animals. Bob is survived by his wife, Sue Dodgion, ; sons and daughters-in-law: Shannon and Lora Dodgion and Gerald and Lawanda Dodgion; daughter and son-in-law, Karrie and Bobby Wallace; step brothers: Doug Blevins, Roger Blevins and Alvin Blevins; grandchildren: Arizona Grace Gracie' Dodgion, Robert Dodgion, Rhiannon Dodgion, Kenneth Parks, Timothy Sanders; step children: Jimmy and Patty Campli, Kim and Mike Petriga, Jon and Tammy Campli; nine step grandchildren; special friends: Toby and Lisa Cuddy, Marina and Wade Farmer, Dub Farmer and Roger Farmer and all of his friends of the Damascus Veterans War Memorial Committee. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Eulogy will be given by Bob's son, Shannon Dodgion. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN to assist in final expenses or to the Lt. Robert D. Powell Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans, P.O. Box 483, Blountville, TN 37617. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home 235 Long Rd. Shady Valley, TN 37688. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
