Betty Sue Church, age 62, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was born on April 11, 1952 in West Virginia to the late Henry and Effie Burrell. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Henry David Burrell. Betty worked several jobs during her life and one of her favorites was truck driving. She met many people and made many friends during her career and stayed in contact with several throughout the years. Betty loved to quilt and crochet and loved sharing and giving her handmade crafts to her family and friends. She was a very loving, caring and giving person and was always willing to go the extra mile to help. One year, Betty made many lap blankets and took to the residents at Mountain City Care Center. More than anything, Betty loved her Lord and Savior and read her Bible daily. She was a member of Sink Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her loving husband, James Bud' Church; children: Pastor Terry Steele and wife Melissa of Butler, TN; Judy Starling and husband Brad of MD; Sherry Morefield and husband Jimmy Morefield Sr. of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Will Starling, Spencer Starling, Jason Steele and wife Sierra, Aaron Steele, Jimmy Morefield Jr and Morgan Roush and husband Dustin; great grandchildren, Aiden Roush; several nieces and nephews and many, many special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harvey White officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Dyson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Steele, Aaron Steele, Jimmy Morefield Jr, Jimmy Morefield Sr., Will Starling and Spencer Starling. Family, pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble by 1:45 p.m. at the cemetery Sunday for graveside services. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 3023 Sink Valley Road, Butler, TN. The family of Betty Sue Church entrusted her services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
