James ' Buck ' Roscoe Stout

James Roscoe Buck' Stout, age 93, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on September 9, 1920 to the late Thomas G. and Minnie B. Davis Stout. In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his sisters: Cora, Susan M. and Venia Ann and brothers: Frank, Claude, William, Stacy, Elbert, Eugene and Clay Stout. Buck was a World War II Veteran having honorable served in the Army Air Force. He was also a retired farmer. He loved being outdoors and working in his gardens and fields. When he wasn't farming, he was selling and trading tools, especially handles for farm tools and equipment. He was also known for his collection of hub caps and tags that he proudly displayed on his buildings. He was of the Baptist faith. Buck is survived by his son, Tom Pass and wife Evone of Butler, TN; two grandsons; special friends: his cousin, David A. Buddy' Stout, Dorsey Fletcher and Mike Howes, and sister-in-law, Loretta Sissy' Stout. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday June 5, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Mike Fenner to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow from the Morley Cemetery, Spear Branch Road, Mountain City, TN. Pallbearers will be Tom Fortune, John Davis, Clifton Proffitt, David Buddy' Stout, Mike Howes and Dorsey Fletcher. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made in Buck's memory to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683 or a charity of your choice.
