Kevin James Courtner

Kevin Courtner, age 36, of Butler, TN passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 4, 2014 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on September 26, 1977 in Johnson County to Edward Courtner and Lestie Cordell Courtner. Kevin worked as a Millwright and loved his job. He always liked to work and stay busy. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Kevin loved his family dearly and his children meant everything to him. He will truly be missed. His easy going way made everyone around him feel comfortable with being his friend. Kevin is survived by his wife Kirsten Stout Courtner, sons: Matthew Courtner and Jacob Courtner all of Butler, TN; step-daughter, Haylee Fivecote; father and mother: Edward Eddie' Courtner and Lestie Courtner of Butler, TN; brothers: Scott Courtner and wife Renee and Joseph Courtner and wife Jennifer; grandmother, Violet Phillips; aunts: Ella Mae Smith, Dolores Jones, Pansy Laws and husband Ronnie; uncles: Gary Cordell, Roger Cordell, Gerald Cordell, Robert Courtner and wife Anita; nieces: Tequila Courtner, Brandy Courtner, and Amber Courtner; nephews: Allen Courtner, Michael Bryant, and Michael Courtner; very special friend, Brother Greg Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from the Midway Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Greg Thompson officiating. Music will be provided by Phil and Wendy Arnold. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside Service and interment will follow from the Midway Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Cordell, Gary Cordell, Brian Rainbolt, Joseph Courtner, Scott Courtner, Tyler Thompson, and Allen Courtner. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Wilson, Curt Wilson, Bobby Stout, and Jason Pass. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his parents, Eddie & Lestie Courtner, 209 Cotton Lane, Butler TN.
