Joseph Wade Gwinn, age 71, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born on December 10, 1942 to the late Charles and Ethel Morefield Guinn. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Thompson Gwinn. Joseph never met a stranger and never forgot anyone that he met. He loved to socialize and spend time with his family; especially his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Joseph loved telling stories with his family and friends and talk about the good ole days'. He is survived by his children: Ronnie Gwinn and wife Dawn, Robert Gwinn, Charlie Gwinn and Charlie Furches; sisters and brothers: Mae Talley, Melissa McCullah, Jean Baird, Geneva Eggers and husband Bob, Lynn Gagliardi and husband AL, David Gwinn and wife Judy, Wayne Guinn, Jack Guinn and Mark Guinn; grandchildren: Johnathan Gwinn, Savannah Gwinn, Robert Gwinn and Megan Gwinn; great grandchild, Rylee Gwinn; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many special friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. Music will be provided by Kody Norris. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Jones and Pastor Ted Lewis to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Reece Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Mink, Davey Gwinn, Donnie Gwinn, Michael Kyte, Matt Wright and Harry Dickson. Honorary pallbearers are David Gwinn, Jack Guinn, Mark Guinn, Bob Eggers, Terry Baird and John Mink. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist in final expenses. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home 108 Powell Street, Mountain City, TN. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com .
